Error analysis for a non-standard class of differential quasi-interpolants

چکیده
Given a B-spline M on R, s≥ 1 we consider a classical discrete quasi-interpolant Qd written in the form Qdf = ∑ i∈Zs f (i)L(· − i), where L(x) :=∑ j∈JcjM(x− j) for some finite subset J ⊂ Z and cj ∈R. This fundamental function is determined to produce a quasi-interpolation operator exact on the space of polynomials of maximal total degree included in the space spanned by the integer translates of M, say Pm. By replacing f(i) in the expression defining Qdf by a modified Taylor polynomial of degree r at i, we derive non-standard differential quasi-interpolants QD,rf of f satisfying the reproduction property QD,rp = p, for allp∈Pm+r. We fully analyze the quasi-interpolation error QD,rf− f for f ∈Cm+2(Rs), and we get a two term expression for the error. The leading part of that expression involves a function on the sequence c:=(cj)j ∈ J defining the discrete and the differential quasi-interpolation operators. It measures how well the non-reproduced monomials are approximated, and then we propose a minimization problem based on this function. © 2010 IMACS. Published by Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. New polynomial preserving operators on simplices: direct results
A new class of differential operators on the simplex is introduced, which define weighted Sobolev norms andwhose eigenfunctions are orthogonal polynomialswith respect to Jacobiweights. These operators appear naturally in the study of quasi-interpolants which are intermediate between Bernstein– Durrmeyer operators and orthogonal projections on polynomial subspaces. The quasi-interpolants satisfy...
متن کاملQuasi - interpolants Based on Trigonometric
A general theory of quasi-interpolants based on trigonometric splines is developed which is analogous to the polynomial spline case. The aim is to construct quasi-interpolants which are local, easy to compute, and which apply to a wide class of functions. As examples, we give a detailed treatment including error bounds for two classes which are especially useful in practice.

متن کاملIncreasing the approximation order of spline quasi-interpolants
In this paper, we show how by a very simple modification of bivariate spline discrete quasi-interpolants, we can construct a new class of quasi-interpolants, which have remarkable properties such as high order of regularity and polynomial reproduction. More precisely, given a spline discrete quasi-interpolation operator Qd, which is exact on the space Pm of polynomials of total degree at most m...
متن کاملNumerical integration using spline quasi-interpolants
In this paper, quadratic rules for obtaining approximate solution of definite integrals as well as single and double integrals using spline quasi-interpolants will be illustrated. The method is applied to a few test examples to illustrate the accuracy and the implementation of the method.
